Jessica is now ten weeks old and our lives since we last wrote have been dominated by getting to know her. She was very unsettled at first and had lots of problems with colic but with help from the midwife we have found a medicine that helps and she is so much happier now. She has changed completely and has the most amazing smile. She has always been fairly good at night and after a feed goes straight back to sleep with no problems. She is now establishing a daytime routine and goes back to bed during the day with no problem. She weighs 5100 g / 11.24 lbs and is eating well. She has had her third doctor's examination and was fine. She had her first immunizations last week but didn't seem to suffer any side effects. She had a small birthmark on her chest which she has had frozen and we go back for another 'freezing' on Friday. She loves baby massage and is very happy lying under her gym but hates waiting at red traffic lights!

We have so far had visits from Wendy, Derek, Nicky, Irfan and Laila. It was lovely to see them all and they were a great help especially with pram walking! Wendy and Derek also did a lot in the garden. We didn't go out and about much but we did have lunch out for Michael's birthday. Since they left we have been trying to establish some sort of routine. We have done a baby massage course and meet regularly with the girls from the prenatal class. Michael will have a months paternity leave starting in the middle of August and we are planning to have a long weekend in Austria with Tom and Kate. Jessica already has her passport!

Quite a few friends have visited over the last few weeks and Jessica received so many cards and presents - thank you again to all of you who thought of her. We went out last week to a restaurant to say goodbye to our good friends Paul and Christy who are moving back to America. We also took Jessica to Pleidelsheim for the first time to visit Thomas, Jutta, Hanna and Daniel.

Hopefully Andrew will be visiting us in August and we are looking forward to Auntie Valerie and Uncle Keith's visit at the beginning of September.

We hope that you are all happy and healthy and look forward to seeing you soon!

Catherine, Michael and Jessica
